I am alive and well, thanks for asking.

Happy Earth Day
Happy Earth Day.

Epic update post coming to your nearest RRXYYRRX blog.

“Writing is easy. You only need to stare at a piece of blank paper until your forehead bleeds.” -Douglas Adams

My dreadful 3,237 word final paper is done. I hope the teacher realizes how much work I put in this considering that the recommended word count was to be between 1,300-1,500 words.

Now, off to my last discussion question and 5 final essays to write.

Don’t forget to follow Michael Phelps begin his Olympic quest for eight gold medals tonight.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” -Steve Jobs

Regardless of what the title of this post says, you’re gonna read this anyway.

First of all, I want to apologize to my number one fans for not updating my blog for almost a month and a half. Normally, I’d write up another long post here, but I can’t remember half of the things that happened since mid-June. (EDIT: Ok, this turned out to be a lengthy one, enjoy.)

I see that my last post detailed my trip back to Rochester from my first summer visit to home. Here’s what happened since I wrote that post (from what I can remember).

June 24 – Back in Park Point, my hopes and dreams were shot down when I discovered that the Direct TV cable box would not be delivered for another week and a half. No worries, I proceeded to waste another week and half until it was time to go home again.

July 3 – I went home for the holiday weekend and surprisingly, the drive didn’t bother me as much. No butt-crenches this time, sorry.

July 9 – Around this time, I actually was about to update my WordPress but somehow I never did it.

July 11-13 – I set up my Samsung 23″ LCD TV in the living room along with my PC and subwoofers for the exciting live broadcast of MLG Orlando. Two days and a Triggers Down victory later, I realized I had wasted the whole weekend by not doing anything productive academically. I was screwed because I had a take-home open-book open-internet midterm on Radiological Threats & Defense that the teacher assigned me when I was home. The fact that he said, “This is due on July 16, so that means you have 9 days to do it! Enjoy!” made me think that I had plenty of time to do it. I hate teachers and their hypnotizing words.

July 14-15 – I basically isolated myself in my room and stayed off AIM to do this midterm. This midterm had 15 essay questions. You may download the Word document here. With my weak background on Radiological Terrorism, I thought I did considerably well.

July 19 – This was one of the worst days of my life. I got a 79% on my midterm. “How could this be?” I asked myself so many times. Entering this course, I had never gotten lower than an A in my Masters thus far and I vowed not to let this streak snap but with this midterm setting me back, I was screwed even more to the point I needed to buy some lubricant and/or vaseline for my ever-so-chafing sphincter. Naturally, after getting a grade I believe I didn’t deserve, I emailed the teacher explaining my case. He replied and said this: (this is the actual email response I got from him)

Rahul –

Don’t worry – you still have a final exam and a paper to go, as well as class participation and homework.

“The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.”      Bertrand Russell

I don’t know if this makes me feel better at all, but I have a 1000-1500 word paper and a final (which is probably similar to the midterm) due on the same day, August 9th. Then, I’ll be done with the course and subsequently will have seven classes left including three already registered for the fall. This means I have two possible scenarios for winter and spring. I could do a two-and-two (2 in winter, 2 in spring) or a three-and-one. What do you think? Keep in mind, I have the Capstone Project as one of my final courses. Inputs would be appreciated.

July 20 – PRESENT – Besides having some academic stress, I’ve been wasting my time here playing video games, watching movies, following the 100 Pushups schedule, eating/taking out food-to-go and minimizing my crap here so my move-out goes smoothly on August 15.

PRESENT – FUTURE – Be shocked. I’ve actually laid out plans for the future! Here’s what’s coming up for me:

Today – Batman Begins & The Dark Knight. ‘Nuff said. Watch for my movie review of The Dark Knight after this post. Trust me, it’ll be up.

Tomorrow – I begin job hunting. I am seriously eye-ing a job at the Barnes and Noble @ RIT bookstore because it’s not under RIT’s shitty payroll and it’s a walking distance from my apartment. Imagine the bucks I’ll be saving and the pounds I’ll be losing by not driving.

August 9 – My Radiological Threats & Defense paper and final are due and most likely, this is when I’ll cry (either happily or sadly).

August 15 – I move out of this temporary housing and move into my permanent Park Point 3-Floor 4-bedroom townhouse where I’m living on the third floor, in the biggest room. I’m the man.

August 22-24 – Road trip to Toronto for MLG Toronto.

Hopefully I’ll get to see these four pro players take first place.

Besides going to see the MLG event, I’d like to explore the possibility of going to a strip club for the first time in my life. I hear it’s best in Canada. I told fourshots to come to Toronto as well.

August 25 – My mom is going to India for six weeks so she wants me to try and see if I can come visit home between the 10th and the 15th or between the 15th and the 20th. I have to figure that out.

September 1 – School begins. I don’t want to talk about it. Let alone why it should begin on September 1 and not the 8th instead.

September 7 – U.S. Open Tennis Men’s Finals. I’m still unsure about this for few reasons. First, it’s the first weekend of school, which means I could miss epic welcome back kids parties. Second, have you seen the ticket prices for this event? I could get four Viewsonic TV’s for the same price. But then again, I haven’t been to a U.S. Open since early this decade and it was one hell of an experience. That was the era of Sampras-Agassi, and I kinda want to see this era of Federer-Nadal.

Alright, so you’ve read all of the upcoming events I have in the near future, so if I don’t post after my movie review of The Dark Knight, don’t be sad.

This will be all for now.

“I travel not to go anywhere, but to go.  I travel for travel’s sake.  The great affair is to move.” -Robert Louis Stevenson

Time of Departure: 6:58AM

TIme of Arrival: 12:28PM

Number of Gas Stops: 1

Duration of Gas Stop: 7 minutes.

Total Driving Time: 5 hours, 23 minutes.

Total Time of staring at passer-bys in the eye: 12 minutes.

Total Time of stalking at a hot woman driver: 3 minutes.  (The bitch was fast and took off at the next exit…which I don’t think had anything to do with me giving her certain tongue gestures.)

Total Travel Time: 5 hours, 30 minutes.

Anyway, I also did some solid 500 butt-clenches and 200 ab-clenches while driving up here from home.  You’d be surprised to see how much time flies by when you’re concentrating on that stuff.  I also counted the number of white dash-lines that were blinking along as I drove into the horizon.  According to my Einstein-inspired calculations, I drove past roughly 63,360 white dash-lines today, whoaz0r.

The drive wasn’t too bad, and whenever I got really bored, I had some of my favorite techno/instrumental songs to keep me alive.  I’m looking forward to acing my midterm that’s coming up in a week or two.  I’m also planning to go home for the July 4th weekend.  Let’s hope that drive’s even more interesting than this morning’s.

“To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.” -Thomas A. Edison

I don’t know if this post is going to be an elephantitis-of-the-testicles post but I’ll give it a try.  I went home about a week ago and surprisingly, I’ve been neglecting the use of AIM and it feels good.  After suffering three miserable years at Colony Manor (environment-wise), I had forgotten how wonderful it was to live in a clean place like Park Point or hell, even home.  The cleaning lady came by this morning (I realize by saying this, I may come off as “rich”, which is completely and utterly false) and the place smelled like a botanical garden and made me want to jump in the shower ASAP so I’d smell like it too. Somebody please tell me that’s weird.

I’ve been spending quite some time in the basement and treating it like my “tech-studio” where I’ve got my laptop, hard drives and movies all hooked up and ready for my entertainment. I once borrowed The Godfather trilogy from a friend a few years ago and I had it in my possession for about two months, only to never watch a single minute of it. I eventually had to return it. So, I rented The Godfather on Netflix last week and had it shipped home so it would be another thing I’d look forward to at home and motivate me to not think about the dreadful drive home.

Anyway, so there I was, sitting in my basement, about to start up The Godfather for the first time. My dad comes down and after few minutes of bantering, he asks me what I’m watching. I respond, “The Godfather, I’ve got the next two parts queued up on Netflix.” He pauses for a second and looks at me as if I’m incredibly stupid and says, “We have the trilogy set here!” Jump forward several bad-assed Michael Corleone moments and bloodbaths. I enjoyed the trilogy and I couldn’t believe I had never gotten around to seeing it in the past. This movie makes me want to be the Godfather to someone’s child one day so I’d have an excuse to slick my hair and wear snappy suits and sit back on a $10,000 plush leather chair.  Oh yeah, I also want to fire a gun one day, at an object, not a person.

One of my goals in mind when I came home was to TRY to sleep at a decent hour so I’d wake up early and exercise by running around my development. I failed miserably on the sleeping part but I’ve been exercising on a proper routine which I’m very proud of. And by routine, I mean a routine consisting of running, lifting and doing crunches. My goal is to lose 10-15 pounds before the end of the summer but gaining muscle mass makes it trickier. Being at home and being surrounded with the delicious homemade foods doesn’t help either. I still haven’t slept before 3AM during my stay here, jesus christ. I blame my new two 1-month trials and my habit at pooping on dick-turned-inside-out-into-a-vagina-as-a-result-of-my-poopage kids online. Speaking of gaming, I really love Mackeo’s game face. It’s by far the most hilarious game face I’ve seen since Jacob Cowie, which was just sheer sadness.

I’m also taking an online course this summer, Radiological Threats & Defense. It’s a very cool class, and we only have a total of three students, including myself. So instead of the usual myCourses approach, we’re discussing issues and concepts via email, which makes it even cooler. Assuming I get an A in this course and extending my 4.0 streak, I would have seven grad courses left at the beginning of the Fall. I’ve enrolled as a full-time student in the Fall with two online courses and one 6-9:50PM Tuesday night course. I’d have four courses left after that which means I could take three in the Winter and 1 in the Spring (I will be preparing my Capstone Project presentation at that time) or whatever works best. My goal is to get a gold high honors cord for my graduation gown in May. DO NOT ask me what I’m going to do after May. (Knowing some of you, you’re gonna ask anyway just to tease me.)

I’m going to try my best to keep a routine in posting here so we can all keep in touch as the years fly by where we’ll all be marrying, working and fucking. My hands hurt from all this typing. I think I’ll be adding an arthritis hand balm/ointment and Jet-Black hair dye to my shopping list in no time. Sigh.
